Script Yorkshire

Workshop: Staging Your Own Work

We were asked to create and run a workshop for Script Yorkshire members to help them find their way through the process of staging their work.

Many writers find the process daunting, confusing and difficult to navigate. This workshop addressed the practical issues and presented solutions to getting that script on its feet.

Beverley for UK Town of Culture

Workshop: UK Town of Culture

We were asked to support the Beverley Town Council's expression of interest for the UK Town of Culture 2028 bid.

As a member of the Beverley Cultural Network, we suggested that this organisation would be a key stakeholder and participant in any future work. To this end, we developed and ran a workshop to combine a consultation session with a highly productive and creative workshop that provided much of the foundations for the town's strategic approach, and much of the content for document.

Venues, festivals, creative practitioners as well as town and county council representatives took part.

Beverley Golf Club

Interpretive Planning Workshop

Formed in 1889, the Beverley & East Riding Golf Club has been a resident on the Westwood for over a hundred and thirty years.

Their unique clubhouse is in a former flour mill and provides them with development space and a fabulous viewpoint from which to see the town and pasture. We were asked to help the club's 'heritage working group' start the process of developing part of the mill as a museum to tell the club's fascinating story.

The workshop identified the key stories, collections and intended audiences as well as discussing how the club would like to shape its relationship with the local community and visitors to the pasture.

Paul Fowler - Heritage Project Lead

"We can't thank Gordon Meredith enough for facilitating an Interpretive Planning Workshop based on best practice principles within the museums sector. As our plans take shape, we will no doubt look back at this workshop as a defining milestone in our journey to establish a heritage centre.”
