Gordon Meredith
Gordon is a writer, actor, designer, and interpretive planner with a unique blend of experience spanning many years across the disciplines of theatre and museums.
Background
Having trained in exhibition, museum, and theatre design, he spent more than 25 years as an interpretive planning and design consultant before moving into theatre, where he now works extensively as a writer and actor.
He combines his passion for history and theatre by writing (and sometimes performing in) a range of performance-related heritage projects, including Folk Theatre, Audio-visuals, and Living History.
Through his experience working with best practice principles in the museum sector, Gordon understands how to structure a narrative to meet a set of key learning outcomes.
His writing style is broad. Having been a scriptwriter for both interpretive copy and audio-visuals during his time as a design consultant, he now writes scripts for plays, audio-visuals, and living history events.
Gordon has acted in theatre, film, audio-visuals, historic buildings, and for voice. By training, he is an interpretive designer, and in addition to his work in museum planning, his design work includes graphic design through Shift Key Theatre’s sister company, Silent Type.
